Dove hunting in Tucuman, Argentina was much more than I had
expected, as was the service from John McKenzie of Southern
Sporting Safaris. Customer Service has become a lot like
common sense these days, not too common. But John went out of
his way to make sure we were ready and prepared for our trip.
We were sent a packing list, which John followed up with phone
calls. Often you don’t know what questions to ask, but John
gave detailed discussions that left no questions unanswered,
even the ones not asked.It was great to have John traveling
with us. He speaks the language and has the contacts to ease
the process of bringing firearms into a foreign country and to
negotiate international airlines. Even when our flight home
was canceled, John put us in touch with Silvana Cohen, a
travel consultant, who took care of all the details and set us
up for a day of sight seeing in Buenos Aires. John’s actions
made for a stress less and enjoyable trip.
Once we arrived at Rodeo de los Bueyes lodge, Gustavo Olsen
made us feel at home and proved to be an excellent host.
Gustavo makes you feel like an “old friend” instead of a
“hunting client”. The food and wine were out of this world.
The Dove shooting has to be experienced, for words can’t
describe it accurately. “Wow” is the best I can do.
Our trip to Argentina was fabulous and I will definitely do
business with Southern Sporting Safaris again. In fact I just
came back from a trip in April 2004 and we are looking for a
date to book in 2005 to dove hunt again in Tucuman, Argentina
with Gustavo Olsen.
